Finals: Day #1, Wed 12th April

  • 100 Breast for Emma Kuhn and Peter Etzold
    • With a fantastic swim in her 100 Breast, Emma Kuhn (@emma.kuhn4 ) came 2nd in the “B Final” (10th Overall). Heats 1:13.69, Finals 1:13.75
    • Peter Etzold (@peterr_etzold ) had another impressive swim coming 3rd in the “B Final” (11th Overall). Finals 1:04.50
  • 100 Back for Emma De Wet, Taylor Luck and Wikus Potgieter
    • Emma De Wet (@emmadewet07 ) with an outstanding performance (and dipping further under that World Juniors Time) came 7th overall in the Women 100 Back. Heats 1:03.92, Finals 1:04.03
    • Taylor Luck (@amphibiank1ng), had an excellent final coming 6th overall in the Men 100 Backstroke. His time is also the first person (18&U) to get the World Juniors time! Heats 57.88, Finals 58.14
    • The Big W, Wikus Potgieter (@wikus_potgieter_ ) had an amazing swim, coming 4th overall in the Men 100 Backstroke in 57.31

Finals: Day #2, Thurs 13th April

  • 200 IM for Emma Kuhn, Peter Etzold and Tai Pearson
    • Well done to Emma Kuhn, she came 5th overall in the Women 200 IM on Day 2 of Senior Nationals, 2:20.70. Excellent swimming Emma!!
    • Well done to Peter Etzold, who came 10th Overall (3rd in the B final), in the Men 200 IM, 2:08.85, a LCM PB. Great effort Peter!!
    • Well done to Tai Pearson, who came 15th Overall (7th in the B Final) in the Men 200 IM, 2:10.65. In the heats, he did a 2:10.52, a LCM PB. Excellent swimming Tai!!
  • 50 Back for Emma De Wet, Wikus Potgieter and Taylor Luck
    • Well done to Emma De Wet, who came 9th overall in the Women 50 Backstroke, 30.12 a LCM PB. Excellent swimming Emma!!
    • Well done to Wikus Potgieter, who came 5th overall in the Men 50 Backstroke, 26.63, a LCM PB. Excellent effort Wikus!
    • Well done to Taylor Luck, who came 6th overall in the Men 50 Backstroke, 26.64. In the heats he did a 26.54, a LCM PB. Excellent swimming Peter!

Finals: Day #3, Fri 14th April

  • 100 Free for Abi Kotze and Taylor Luck
    • Well done to Abi Kotze, she came 14th overall in the Women’s 100 Freestyle (58.60) (youngest in both the A and B final by 2 years!) Abi did a 58.46 in the heats. Excellent swimming Abi!!
    • Well done to Taylor Luck, who came 6th overall in the Men’s 100 Freestyle. This swim is another World Juniors Qualifying time (51.61). Taylor did a 51.59 in the heats. Great swimming!
  • 200 Breast for Peter Etzold
    • Well done to Peter Etzold, he came 1st in the B final and 7th overall in the Men’s 200 Breaststroke. His time of 2:21.07 is also a World Juniors qualifying time! Peter did a 2:23.19 in the heats. Excellent swimming!
  • 4×100 Relays for Abi Kotze, Emma Kuhn and Wikus Potgieter
    • We had some excellent relay swims (representing Western Cape)
    • The girls, Abi (@abi_kotze ) and Emma (@emma.kuhn4 ) came 2nd in the Women 4×100 Freestyle.
    • Wikus (@wikus_potgieter_ ) was part of the Men 4×100 Freestyle who came 3rd!

Finals: Day #4, Sat 15th April

  • 50 Free for Abi Kotze, Taylor Luck and Rebecca Fury
    • Well done to Abi Kotze (@abi_kotze). She came 8th (26.87) in the A final of the Women 50 Freestyle. Her swim in the morning was both a SA record (26.49) for Girls 13 and a World Juniors qualifying time!
    • Well done to Rebecca Fury, who had to do a swim-off (She and another swimmer had the exact same time in prelims). Her time (27.04) would have placed her 14th overall in the Women’s 50 Freestyle
    • Well done to Taylor Luck (@amphibiank1ng ). He came 13th overall in the Men’s 50 Freestyle (23.83).
  • 100 Fly for Abi Kotze, Emma Kuhn, Tai Pearson and Wikus Potgieter
    • Well done to Abi Kotze (@abi_kotze ) who came 4th overall in the Women 100 Fly (Youngest in the A final by 4 years!). Her time of 1:01.05 is both a new SA record for girls 13 and also another World Juniors Qualifying Time!
    • Well done to Emma Kuhn, she came 16th overall in the Women 100 Butterfly in 1:04.80
    • Well done to Tai Pearson (@tai_pearson_ ) who came 8th overall in the Men 100 Butterfly (55.00). His time in the heats (54.63) is a new SA record for boys 15 and a World Juniors Qualifying Time!
    • Well done to Wikus Potgieter (@wikus_potgieter_ ) who came 12th overall in the Men 100 Butterfly in a time of 55.73
  • 4×50 Relays for Rebecca Fury, Abi Kotze and Taylor Luck
    • In the Women 4×50 Freestyle Relay, Abi (@abi_kotze ) went a 26.46 and Rebecca (@rebecca.fury ) went a 26.86! The WCA Women came 2nd overall!
    • In the Men 4×50 Freestyle Relay, Taylor (@amphibiank1ng ) went a 22.96!! The WCA Men came 2nd overall.

Finals: Day #5, Sun 16th April

  • 200 Backstroke for Emma De Wet and Wikus Potgieter
    • Well done to Emma De Wet. She came 2nd (2:21.90) in the B Final of the Women 200 Backstroke. Her time placed her 8th overall by time!
    • Well done to Wikus Potgieter. He came 11th overall (2:10.16) in the Men’s 200 Backstroke.
  • 50 Fly for Abi Kotze and Tai Pearson
    • Well done to Abi Kotze, she came 6th overall (27.72) in the Women’s 50 Butterfly. Good swimming!
    • Well done to Tai Pearson, he came 8th (25.06) in the A final of the Men’s 50 Butterfly. Good swimming!
  • 4 x 100 Medley Relay for Women
    • Well done to our girls, who in the Women 4×100 Medley Relay came third! Emma De Wet (1:04.34 Back) and Abi Kotze (58.48 Free).
