EcoActive was created to introduce youth to various sporting codes, to empower them through the discipline of sport, and to educate kids about their environment. One of our most important campaigns are our Learn-to-Swim programme and our Water Awareness Programme.
We go into the schools teaching them about water safety as well as teaching them to swim is a valuable skill that could turn a child into a lifeguard, a promising athlete but most importantly keeping themselves safe and those around them.
Holiday Program, Holiday Appeal to Vineyard Swimming Club parents
Dear Gary and Su
Thank you for taking interest in our projects in wanting to partner with us.
Are you able to assist us with the below request, please?
The Learn-to-Swim programmes have come to an end and we are having a holiday programme for the learners of the participating schools – Levana Primary School, Zerilda Park Primary School, Hillwood Primary School and Capricorn Primary School.
1. October programme is a 3-day clinic, 1st-3rd October 2018
Day 1 – Activities with Save our Seas – rock pooling and diving.
Day 2 – Surfing / Bodyboarding / Introduction to the Nipper programme.
Day 3 – Introduction to water polo and triathlon.
The aim of the clinics is to expose the kids of the communities to other sporting codes. Experiencing new things exposes them to a world of opportunities ( dreaming – believing – achieving )
2. December EcoActive Adventure Camp 14th-16th December 2018 @ Soetwater Environmental Campsite
The aim of the camp is to allow kids to explore the outdoors, build friendships, discover their best selves and develop the character of compassion and the confidence to lead. We would like to instill the values of trust, respect, faith and responsibility so that they can go home into their communities and make a positive difference.
We are catering for 40 learners ( aged 11-13 ) per day on the 3-day holiday clinic and a 3-day camp.
I hope you are able to assist in donating nutrition / food / fruit / or sponsoring a child.
Thank you Vineyard Swimming Club!
“Wow , I cannot believe school holidays for the third term is over. What an amazing holiday programme we had with the EcoActive kids of our LTS programme and our Friday swimmers. We learned – played and were educated. Thank you Save our Seas for educating us about the beauty of our marine life and how we can contribute to protect the environment. Waves for change – thank you for including EcoActive kids into your programme they learned new skills and had fun. At Retreat pool on Wednesday we had fun at the pool playing lots of games keeping us water safe and water smart.. Thank you to the members of Vineyard Swimming Club who generously assisted in making this week possible. On behalf of EcoActive thank you to all who help keep this programme afloat.”
